TraceSpeed is a GPS speedometer and telemetry app offering live speed and heading, a HUD, trip recording and analytics, route map visualization, GPX/CSV export, speed limit alerts, and a simulator. The app presents these terms and a safety notice before its first use. Advertising consent is requested separately.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent under the laws of your country, to use TraceSpeed independently. If you are younger, you may use the app only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

License

Subject to your compliance with these terms, the provider grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use TraceSpeed on devices you own or control for lawful purposes. Rights not expressly granted are reserved.

App Store Terms

If you obtain TraceSpeed through Google Play, the Apple App Store, or another platform, that platform's terms additionally apply. The platform operator is not responsible for TraceSpeed's content or operation except where its mandatory terms say otherwise.

Local Trip Data and Exports

Recorded trips can contain precise route history and remain in the app's private device storage until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the app. You are responsible for device access, backups, exported files, and the destinations you choose in the system share sheet. The provider cannot remotely recover a deleted trip or retrieve a trip from your device.

Map Data and OpenStreetMap

Map visualization features utilize map data and tiles from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL). Map tiles are provided for visual exploration and reference only. The provider and OpenStreetMap contributors do not guarantee that map data is complete, current, or error-free.

Advertising and Voluntary Support

Configured free releases may display Google AdMob banner ads and may offer an optional rewarded video to support development. Rewarded ads are shown only after you actively choose to watch one. Completing the video grants 30 minutes without banners in this app; the reward is local, non-transferable and has no cash value. Core speedometer, simulator, trip recording, map visualization, and export functions are not conditional on agreeing to personalised advertising or tracking. You may not manipulate or automate ad interactions or generate fraudulent impressions or clicks.

Road Safety and Driver Responsibility

Never interact with or operate the app while driving or controlling a moving vehicle. Configure it only while safely parked and mount the device in a lawful position that does not obstruct your view or vehicle controls.

The vehicle operator remains responsible for traffic laws, posted limits, road and weather conditions, secure device placement, and full attention to the road.

Accuracy and Non-Certified Instrument

GPS readings depend on satellite reception, device hardware, environmental obstructions, operating-system services, and data quality. Values may be delayed, inaccurate, incomplete, or unavailable.

TraceSpeed is not a calibrated or legally certified speedometer and does not replace a vehicle's required official instruments. In any discrepancy, follow official instruments, traffic signs, and applicable law.

Simulator

Simulator values and coordinates are synthetic and intended for testing or demonstrations. They do not represent real movement or a verified location and must not be treated as evidence of an actual trip.

Required Updates and Emergency Suspension

For security, legal or compatibility reasons, the provider may require an available app update or temporarily suspend the app. A policy already received by the device remains effective offline and after restart. No time-limited offline authorization is required. A permanently offline device cannot receive a new suspension. An interrupted recording is saved before normal functions stop; saved trips remain accessible for export and deletion, along with legal documents and support. Installing an update does not constitute agreement to materially changed terms.

Acceptable Use

You may not use TraceSpeed unlawfully, dangerously, deceptively, to interfere with advertising systems, or to damage the app or related services. Restrictions on reverse engineering, decompilation, modification, or disassembly apply only to the extent permitted by mandatory law.

Availability and Warranty

To the extent permitted by law, TraceSpeed is provided “as is” and “as available” without promises of uninterrupted operation, continuous GPS or network availability, error-free calculations, fitness for a particular purpose, or preservation of local data. Mandatory statutory warranties remain unaffected.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the provider is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, traffic fines, loss of local or exported data, missed recordings, or reliance on estimated GPS values. Mandatory liability—especially for personal injury, intent, gross negligence, product liability, and non-waivable consumer rights—remains unaffected.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Austrian law, excluding conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Any jurisdiction agreement applies only where legally permitted. Mandatory consumer protections and the courts available to consumers in their country of habitual residence remain unaffected.

Changes to these Terms

Material changes are published as a new dated legal version and presented in the app again. Where renewed agreement is needed, it is requested explicitly in the app. Installing an update alone does not signify agreement. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
